Though our Aegis Sterling Silver is much more tarnish resistant than traditional sterling silver, there is only so much neglect anyone or anything can endure.

Yet, remember this - while your jewelry is a facet of your expression, it doesn't define you. You wear your jewelry, it does not wear you.

  • Keep it Dry

    Minimize your jewelry's contact with moisture to prevent tarnish. Remove it before showering, swimming, or doing dishes.

  • Chemicals can Hurt

    Steer clear of exposing your jewelry to household chemicals, including chlorine and saltwater, which can damage the surface.

  • Fragrance First

    Put on your silver jewelry after applying fragrances, makeup, and lotions to avoid contact with chemicals that may cause discoloration. Just to be safe, always wipe down at the end of the night!

The Classic Cord

Fashioned from waxed and woven leather, the Classic Cord that accompanies every Atelier Aegis pendant is a testament to resilience. However, due to the composite nature of this material, there's less exact guidance around how to best maximize the longevity of the cord.

Our founding designer originally thought he would have to replace it every year, but time has delightfully shown the Classic Cord to be much hardier than expected.
